Second Loop is a research & engineering organization on a long project: closing the loop between human and machine intelligence.

Every era of computing moved intelligence somewhere — into institutions, then into clouds. We think the arc now bends back: intelligence that lives with you, works for you, and grows with you, until the loop between a mind and a machine is short enough to disappear.

The name nods to second-order cybernetics and Hofstadter's strange loop — when a loop grows complex enough to include itself, something new emerges. Local AI is the first link in that chain. It is where we start, not where we end.
